What is reflexology?

REFLEXOLOGY, as practiced today, was first researched and developed by Eunice Ingham, a physical therapist, and pioneer in this field. Her first book on the subject, Stories the Feet Can Tell, was published in 1938. Reflexology seminars have been conducted year-round since 1942.  REFLEXOLOGY is currently practiced worldwide. It has been integrated into mainstream healthcare in China, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.

FOOT REFLEXOLOGY is a highly effective alternative healing therapy. It is based on the premise that stimulating the nerve endings on the bottom of the feet rejuvenates all systems of the body. By stimulating these nerve endings in a systematic manner with the thumb and fingers, energetic pathways open to the nervous, blood, lymph, and muscular systems, as well as to the internal organs. The body naturally detoxifies, relaxes, and normalizes, enhancing circulation and energy flow.

What can I expect??
A reflexology treatment generally lasts 45 minutes. The only thing you need to do to prepare is to come to the session with clean feet. You will sit in a reclining chair and an initial assessment will be made of your feet. Your expectations and any current problems you are having will be addressed. I will then begin to work on your feet by applying systematic pressure to every part of each foot with my thumb and fingers. Sometimes, during the session, you may encounter a sensation in your foot that feels like you have stepped on a pebble. In this instance, I have located a reflex to a part of the body that is not in balance, and further rubbing of the foot will work out the imbalance and bring a soothing energy to that portion of the foot. The result is extremely relaxing. Most people feel very relaxed and centered after a treatment.
