Michele R. Sumpter, LAc.

I specialize in the treatment of pain (both chronic & acute), digestion and elimination problems, woman's health issues including infertility issues, menopause, PMS and related issues. The focus of my practice is the promotion of wellness on all levels, which goes beyond the mere absence of disease. Lifestyle measures are considered, supplements, herbs and eastern medicine techniques are applied.

Through the use of the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and identifying your health goals, we will assemble an interactive treatment plan comfortable for your lifestyle and pocketbook. In addition, I will help you learn to integrate simple practices into your daily schedule to gain a new understanding of how your body works.

Allow me to help you discover your relationship with your own health. Chinese medicine approaches the human body from an energetic & functional standpoint. The power and responsibility for maintaining our own health (and that of our families) rests within each of us, in the day-to-day ways in which we eat, move, sleep, interact and handle physical, emotional and spiritual challenges.

I invite you to give acupuncture an opportunity to compliment your current method of healthcare. Millions of Americans have already discovered the far reaching benefits of these ancient and seemingly mysterious procedures. Virtually anyone will benefit from acupuncture. Please, proceed with confidence to new possibilities for health & wellness. --Michele R. Sumpter, LAc. (CO), CAc.(KY)

Shannon M. Woods, CMT

With a mother as an acupuncturist, people seldom ask why I chose to look into massage therapy. The holistic health industry sold itself. At a young age I developed the passion to help people help themselves naturally and that is my goal as a therapist today.  I am a graduate of the 750 hour program at the Louisville School of Massage, with a great deal of training in addition to two formal semesters of hands-on practice in Student Clinic and Palpation Lab, participation in over 18 volunteer Community Events, and an internship at Bridgehaven Opportunity House.  In addition, I have a unique talent that i enjoy sharing with others.   In March, 2008, I earned my National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
